He later served as the head coach at New Castle High School from 2003–2005 and was named State Coach of the Year in 2004.
Throughout his club coaching career, Phil has coached with Munciana, Munciana Indy, and Sports Performance. Phil's volleyball accomplishments also include winning a State Championship as a player at Downers Grove North in Illinois in 1991.
Beyond the court, Phil has led teams on international travel experiences to China, the Dominican Republic, and Canada. He is a teacher at Greenfield-Central High School, where his wife, Kelly, also teaches. Together, they have two sons, Landon and Brayton.
Phil's passion for coaching comes from his love of teaching every aspect of the game, including skill development, strategy, competition, and the psychology of volleyball. He enjoys helping athletes grow their understanding of the game and develop the tools they need to compete at their highest level.
